Okay, so Papa Train still makes fun of me because when I was growing up we were the last family to have a VCR or a microwave. And here I am, 37 years old, married for almost 17 years, and I am just now the proud owner of…
A KITCHEN AID Mixer!!!!
I have wanted one of these babies FOR. EVER.
So, in December, I was visiting with a couple of friends, and we were talking about trying to eat clean and the topic of baking bread came up. And somehow, it came out that I had to knead my dough like a pioneer woman………with my bare HANDS. They were both shocked and appalled that I did not own a Kitchen Aid mixer. A couple of weeks later, one of these ladies pulls up to the church building where we were going to have our book study, and she says she has something for me in her car. We walk over to her car, she opens the door, and there in her front seat is a brand new KitchenAid mixer. The appliance of my dreams. Just for me. I. Was. Stunned. The story came out that she, along with her husband and children, just wanted to do something nice. So awesome.
How in the world have I lived this long without this machine???? We love her (yes, she’s a her) so much that we named her Beulah (after the love interest of Hank, Head of Ranch Security, in the Hank the Cowdog Series). My plan is to adorn her with a vinyl cut-out of her name…..
Beulah makes baking bread a breeze. She doesn’t take up nearly the counter space that I thought she would. I recently found out you can make BUTTER with her. Butter, people. Clean up is a snap. And did I mention the COOKIES?!? Needless to say, Beulah and I have a lot of lost time to make up for. And that is exactly what I plan to do.
