The Odom’s Make Orzo

We had our back to school kick-off at church last night.  Each family was supposed to bring a dish (not dessert) that started with the same letter as their last name.  We were supposed to work on the dish as a family and explain how we worked together.  Our last name starts with O.  There were not a lot of options.

Although my middle child threw out “Octopus” and “Okapi”, we finally decided on orzo pasta topped with a Pomodoro sauce.

In typical Mama-Tutu fashion, I was a bit of an overachiever.  I threw together this collage and laminated it with my handy dandy laminator to display by our pasta dish.  It showcases how each of us chipped in to make the dish — from garden to plate.

Thanks to my presentation efforts, we took home a prize in the “work together” category!  Woot!  Nice teamwork, Team Odom!

That was such a great idea for a potluck! I’m very curious how it all turned out. You were certainly challenged to find something with an O, but you sure rose to the challenge. Great!

It was lots of fun, and there was no shortage of food. I didn’t eat any sweets, but I certainly had more than my fill of yummy food!
