On Blogging

Someone asked me the other day, “You started a blog?”  It seems a funny question to me because I’ve been blogging for so long.  Not in the profitable mega-blog way, but in the sharing, adult outlet mom-blog type way.  I began blogging in 2006, when Clara was not even a year old.  Crazy to think that was almost 12 years ago.  Back then it was mostly just sharing cute pictures and funny quotes from the every day.

In 2010 my friend Amanda and I thought it would fun to do a joint blog so we started Trains and Tutus.  She isn’t as verbose as me and her kids are much younger, giving her less time to write.  But it’s the thought that counts!

I know blogs are now “out of style” and on the decline.  But to me, blogging has given me a needed outlet to connect with others and to share some of the “real”.  It’s become an online journal of sorts.  As with anything, I go in cycles, and I appreciate the few of you who have stuck it out through thick and thin and listened to me ramble.  I appreciate your sweet comments more than you know.

As the children have gotten older, there are less things that I can share without infringing on their privacy, so I’ve tried to respect that.  Know, though, that this mom thing is always hard.  It doesn’t matter what stage you’re in!

While being nostalgic and reading back through that first blog (link HERE) I found what looks to be like my first “Monday Musings” post.  This was from November 2007, which would have made the girls 2, 3 and 6.

So, for now I’ll continue to blog when I can.  Thanks to those of you faithful few (you know who you are!) who continue to read. Feel free to chime in any time.
