Monday Musings

So, as you know, I recently turned 40… and Mama Train turns 40 in just three short weeks.  What better way than to celebrate together?  I had a dear sweet friend who told me I couldn’t plan my own birthday party, and completely took over and did everything for us.  It was a great evening with friends & family.

My youngest daughter just finished her SECOND quilt.  And guess who was the recipient of said quilt?  Yep – I’m a blessed lady!  Didn’t she do an awesome job?

The first production of Pearland Little Theatre is behind us!  “Grease: School Version” was a great success.  It was a crazy summer which ended with an awesome run, and I am so proud of not only my kids but and all of our cast who did such a great job.  It’s sad to see it come to an end.  This summer and this cast will always have a special place in my heart, no matter what the future holds for our theatre company.

Oh my goodness, the drama that comes with the dating scene.  I am so not ready for all the emotions involved in raising teenage girls!  We’ve recently been through our first real boyfriend and mature breakup all in a two-month span.  I feel myself sprouting additional gray hairs as I type.

Today was my girls’ first day back to school.  I have a 6th grader, 7th grader & a 10th grader.  I didn’t get the obligatory first day of school photo because the oldest starts at 7:15 and the younger two don’t start until 8:45, so they weren’t all up when we left.  There’s always this afternoon…

It’s my prayer that my children will seek out the people that need friends the most.  That they’ll be kind & show God’s love to those around them.  I wish I could be there to navigate for them.  It’s hard letting them grow up and make such important choices and decisions on their own.

Have a great week, friends!
