Monday Musings

Knock, knock… anyone still there?  It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve blogged.

So, I just got home from Florida, where we spent a 10-day vacation with the family.  We did the whole Disney/Universal thing, and had a great time.  The kids were slightly annoyed because I made them “color code” each day but it still makes them so much easier to spot in a crowd when they all have on the same color.  Fortunately, they tolerated my obsessive nature and went with it.

Note, my husband does not have wording on his teal shirt like the rest of us.  He doesn’t do wording.  My friend Wendee (who has her own Etsy shop HERE – she is awesome and can do LOTS of custom things) made our shirts for us.  They all have the Hallows sign followed by “Keep Calm” quotes…

Keep Calm Cuz I’m a Weasley
Keep Calm and Try Not to Get Us Killed or Worse Expelled
Keep Calm and Don’t Call Me Nymphadora
Keep Calm and Turn to Page 394.

I just love being a nerdy family!

I started my new job today as a Ministry Assistant at the Southeast Church of Christ where I am a member.  So far, so good.  I think it’s going to be a good fit.  It’s gong to be an adjustment going back to work full time, but I think our family will handle it well.

I didn’t get much reading done last week.  I had grand plans, but our vacation didn’t have much down time.  I still have a huge stack of summer books I’d like to read.  We’ll see how that goes with less leisure time on my plate.  To-date I’ve read 41 books so far this year.

I got a few days behind in my Bible in 90 Days reading while on vacation.  I still read while I was there, I just didn’t get the whole chunk read every day, so I’m on day 55 instead of Day 58.  It shouldn’t be too hard to catch up, though.

I am headed out for my next Praise & Harmony recording soon!  Our last CD is available for pre-order now and ships out on July 13th!  The songs on this cd are truly inspiring!  Here’s a sneak peek at some of the songs:

Enjoying our crazy busy summer!  Have a great week, friends!
