Thought I’d try something different today. I was inspired by a scrapbook list I saw on Pinterest:
For Christmas, Hubby got me a wireless speaker for my phone that ROCKS. I’ve been utilizing my Beats subscription a LOT lately. Tonight as I made supper I was listening to a “Cooking” playlist called the “Best of Bossa Nova.” My middle child asked me if it was ‘real music’. Whatever that means.
No sugar. As I did last year, I’m starting 2015 off by abstaining from sugar. Last year, I went 90 days. Not sure what my goal is this time, but certainly for the month. After all the holiday sweets, it’s not too hard for me to take a break. My system needs a little recovery time from all the junk.
Juice. My friend lent me a juicer that she’s not using, and I’m going to see if I can incorporate some juicing into my diet. I went to the grocery store today and stocked up on some veggies/fruits common in the recipes I’ll be trying. Tomorrow will be my first day to use it. Not unrelated, the girls go back to school tomorrow. I didn’t want an audience with commentary, especially at first. First up tomorrow is a carrot-apple-lemon juice to ease my way in.
Anything warm! It was 34 degrees outside this morning, people! Totally unacceptable for the Texas Gulf Coast. The scarves and gloves will be in daily use until it warms up a little, and it’s supposed to be even colder by week’s end.
Sad that our holiday break is over. I enjoy having all my chicks (and the rooster) at home with me under my wing, and it’s sad they have to go back tomorrow. Hubby went back to work today. I missed having him around.
See #4. Brr!!
The upstairs bathroom project to come to a completion. After having five people share a bathroom for almost a year, I will be so happy to reclaim my shower as my own! Of course, considering #5 above, it may be a while before it’s actually finished, especially now that hubby is back to work and has less time for a bathroom remodel.
To go to the library to pick up my book-club book that’s on hold. I’ll most likely go tomorrow.
I love how the new year always feels like a blank slate, full of possibilities and potential for growth. My focus word for the month is PATIENCE.
Creating a new 2015 planner for myself! I’m using a blank moleskin notebook that came in a three-pack when I got one for my gardening journal. I recently came across the idea of bullet journalling. Watch out world! I love the concept! I am incorporating my own taste into the journal and using some stickers I had left over from my scrapbooking days. It’s going to be great. I’m sure I’ll be sharing more about it in the near future.
