Well, we made it through the first week of school. Hallelujah!
Overall, we’ve had a good start, I believe. It helped that we had a three day weekend to look forward to after the first week to ease us back into the school routine.
Eating-wise, the week went well. I only sent Ramen in my daughter’s lunch one day, and the other daughter ate salads and healthy wraps for the week. At home we ate all “real” food until this weekend, when we succumbed to the easy “pizza” route on the way home from church.
Consequently, I lost 5 lbs. Woot!
For the record, I did not give up my coffee. I am drinking it black, but could not go cold turkey.
I am so ready for my ladies’ Bible study group to start back up! We took a break for summer, but start back this month. I have missed them and our awesome discussions! This fall, we are going to study the book Forgotten God by Frances Chan. It will be my third time reading this book, but still I can’t wait!
I love all the little rain showers we’ve been having lately. It hasn’t been a constant rain, but just a little shower here and there. My yard is happy.
However, I do NOT like the fire ants that the rain sent into my kitchen. They are such a pain!
I am trying to write again and am having a difficult time getting going with my plot. I have little pieces here and there, but the hardest part for me is coming up with something fresh and all my own that hasn’t been written before or that doesn’t remind me of something else I’ve read.
My 13 year old is helping me by being a sounding board. Today she insisted we needed to go to Starbucks for a change of scenery to get the creative juices flowing… and what do you know? It helped. I have such awesome daughters.
I hope you all had a relaxing Labor Day and have a fabulous week!
