Monday Musings

Technically, it’s still Monday… but that only gives me 50 minutes to write this post.

My time today was spent in the schoolroom getting ready for the new school year.  It’s the third afternoon I’ve spent in there, and it’s still not finished.  It’s been a whole year since it had a “thorough” cleaning.  Slowly but surely…

My curriculum prep is in better shape.  My Sonlight box came in a week or two ago.  We are using that for History and Reading.  I purchased our Math, Language & Writing curriculum earlier in the summer, and still have Bible ongoing from last year, so I think we’re good to go.  I’m excited about our new writing program.  I’m sure I’ll share more on it later, but I’m hoping to set up a writing/craft-type center in the school room.

Of course, we can’t think about back-to-school until Sound of Music is over.  It’s been fun.  Here is a pair of mother/daughter nuns.  (Wait!  How does that work?!?)

SOM

Aren’t we cute?  I also make an appearance as a member of a goofy/excited trio that wins third place at the concert while the Von Trapp’s are escaping…

SOM2One night we completely broke our trophy while “fighting” over it.  It was quite funny and fortunately, it snapped back together pretty easily.

Guess what I listened to all day as I was playing taxi for the kids??

CD one of two is finally here!  So exciting!  It gave me chills to listen to it.  You can order your own HERE if you so desire.  The arrangement to “Humble Yourself in the Sight of the Lord” is sooooo awesome.  There are also lots of songs with just the most amazing lyrics.  I promise you’ll love it.

Oh my goodness!  I can’t believe that I forgot to mention anything last week about going to see Wicked!  I went with a good friend the week before last.  It was wonderful!  I wish I could go again and take my oldest, because she would love it, and the musical version is SO much more adolescent-appropriate than the book, but it’s not in the budget this time.  We went to dinner before the show, and my sweet friend treated me as a birthday surprise!

TenaLove her!

I have 15 minutes left of Monday so I guess I’m going to wrap this up.  I see now why it takes me so long to write posts… I get distracted too easily.

I’m currently trying to kill a mosquito that’s buzzing around near my bed… if I don’t get him, I know I’ll wake up with bites.  *sigh*

Have a wonderful week, friends!
