Monday Musings

Musings for this chilly Monday morning…

mom

I have the best mom.  For real.  She celebrated a milestone birthday this past weekend, and we got to celebrate by hanging out together all weekend on a quick girl trip to go pick up my Grandmother, who had been visiting relatives.  Good times.

Our weekend had several perks… One being we got to meet my cousin’s newest cutie pie.

And we got to see Mama Train & crew!  The two of us actually got to go out for coffee.  Decaf, of course, without sugar.  Are we getting old or what?

On the downside, we ended up having a bit of car trouble.  A new car battery is in my future…  like, today if possible.  I’m having trouble getting it started to get it out of my driveway…

I did a pretty good job working on my “DEVELOP” goals during the first week of 2013.  The only thing I didn’t accomplish that I wanted to was to practice my guitar.  I think I’m going to work on coming up with some kind of checklist/worksheet for myself to help me keep track of my daily/weekly/monthly goals and challenges.

No sugar for me this month.  So far, so good.  I’m trying to encourage my entire household to participate, but I haven’t been quite as strict on the “hidden sugars” for the kids.  Do I want them to have it?  No.  But I’m going to be happy with the drastic decrease in sugar intake in general and not sweat the small stuff.

School starts back tomorrow for my girls.  Boo.  I could use another week to get my house back in shape… but when couldn’t I?

That’s all for now.  I have to get to the grocery store today before the rain comes.  I’m such a homebody and do NOT want to get out in cold rainy weather to buy groceries!  I’m waiting for my husband to get off a call for work to figure out how we’re going to get the car started and to the dealership!
