Monday Musings

A little later than usual, but it’s still Monday, right?  It was a busy day!

Mama Train and I are back from our relaxing “Mom-Away” weekend.  It went by way too quickly, but I was happy to come home and see my loves.  I feel like it makes me a better mommy when I have time on my own to get away now and then.  I feel recharged and ready to be more patient.

I think it worked too, because today was “cleaning day” upstairs for my girls, and was filled with lots of drama from one little girl who shall remain nameless… Anyway, I kept my cool and didn’t yell, which is huge for me.

What is the deal with having to bother the cat every minute of the day?  Leave the poor kitty alone!  Today they tried to dress her in doll clothes.  Poor kitty.

My middle child, the “non-girly” girl, was primping before tonight’s play rehearsal.  I don’t know if I should be encouraging that she’s putting some effort into her appearance or worry about why she was doing so.

I cannot believe it’s already July!  It’s one of my favorite months, as it’s my birthday month!

I’m behind in book reviews.  I’ve read 5.5 books since I’ve done a review!  Maybe I’ll get to that tomorrow, although tomorrow is shaping up to be a busy day as well.

Camp Bandina is coming up in just a couple of weeks.  All three of my girls are going and I have a rockin’ job this year — Camp Photographer.  You heard it right.  How fun will that be?!?

My garden needs a good rain shower.

My husband is awesome.  When I thanked him for keeping the girls all weekend so I could go have my weekend with Mama Train, he acted like it was no big deal.  He’s their parent after all.  I appreciate that he feels this way, because I don’t have to feel guilty when I’m away, and so many dads do not share the opinion that it’s no big deal for mom to go away for a weekend and manage things on their own once in a while.  I am blessed.

I have a sweet new nephew, born a week and a half ago.  I was supposed to take his newborn pictures yesterday, but since I was exposed to the stomach-bug recently, we decided to wait until I’m sure I’m not sick or contagious.  It’s killing me to not be able to see him!

WestonIsn’t he precious?!?

Those cheeks.  I just want to squeeze them!

My in-laws bought the house next door to us.  They close in a couple of weeks.  The girls think they’re getting a second house.  This will be interesting…

Hope you all have a great week, friends!!
