Monday Musings

Sometimes in the morning, I’m the only one awake and I can savor my coffee in silence.  It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it’s lovely.

Our summer is moving quickly.  I can’t believe it’s almost the end of June.  Crazy.

My eldest keeps chiding me for my lack of blogging.  Honestly, I’m having trouble thinking of anything that might be remotely interesting to anyone but myself and my daughter.

My husband doesn’t like the use of the word “honestly.”  He thinks you should be honest all the time so the use of the word is redundant.

He is a huge analyst of diction, apparently.  (Apparently is another word he probably would find superfluous).

The quiet moment is over.  I now have two children and a cat hovering near me.

Planning has begun for the 2013-2014 School Year.  Changing some things up… anxious and excited.

I am missing my “motivation” button this summer… does this happen to anyone else?  Just feel like I’m running on auto pilot and not getting anything done other than playing taxi service.

I’m now on cup of coffee number two.

Life with three girls is so full of drama.

Literally full of drama.  We have “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe” coming up in July and “The Sound of Music” coming in August.  All three girls are involved in Narnia, and Mallory and I are in the Sound of Music.

Yep, you read that right.  I got roped into being a nun because they needed altos, and my sweet daughter volunteered me.

My garden trellis looks really cool now that things are growing all over it.

trellisJuneMy garden has been in a bit of a funk this year.  Not terrible, by any means, but definitely not as productive as last year.  I’m going to blame the weather… because the other alternative would be to point fingers at the gardener, and that’s just unacceptable.

I’m going to make my girls work on some Math review today.  They are not going to be happy with me.

I’m such a mean mom.

Of course, we are also going to get snow cones this afternoon.  So, maybe that will redeem me somewhat.

After all, the high today is in the 90s. I think snow cones are in order.

Have a great week, friends!
