Monday Musings

Isn’t it nice that the fresh new year starts on a Monday?  So much better than the alternative of not having a clean blank slate to start the week.

It is COLD here.  18 degrees outside and feels like 4.  I don’t know how you people up north can stand weather like this.  It is NOT okay.  Our birdbath contains a solid block of ice…

Our Keurig died after serving us well for five years.  It was a sad day.  I tried to resuscitate it by doing all the things you’re supposed to do, but nothing helped.  So I used my Christmas money to buy a new coffee pot.  I decided against another Keurig and bought something that will do both an individual cup and a full carafe of coffee.  It even has a milk frother attached.

We took down all the Christmas decorations yesterday.  It seems so bare in here!

I just watched out the window as a cute little bird sat on bird bath full of frozen water.  It made me sad.  Poor little thing.  He had a little bit of yellow on his tail — a google search makes me think he was a yellow-rumped warbler.  I’ve never seen one before.

I’m trying some new dishes this week, thanks to a few hours on Pinterest the other day.  Hopefully my family will approve.  Tonight is Mozzarella-Stuffed Italian Mini Meatloaves (found HERE if you’re interested).  I think they sound yummy.  We’ll find out this evening!

Last year, for the first time since I started doing Goodreads challenges (2013) I didn’t meet my challenge goal.  I almost met half my goal (19/40).  I guess other things in life just took precedence over my reading for leisure.  I did read about 6 books in December though, so I made up some reading there at the end, but I was just too far behind.  I joined the 2018 challenge though and set my goal at 36 books, which is 3 books a month.  I feel it’s feasible, considering I’m also planning on doing the Bible in 90 days again for the first quarter of the year, and some sort of daily reading after that.

My kids have asked me to do a 1 Second Everyday video again in 2018.  Check out the 1SE app on itunes if you’d like to do your own.  They’re pretty cool.

Guess I’ve been on here long enough.  I hope that you all have a fabulous week, and a fabulous 2018!
