I’ve been quiet. Sometimes when so much is happening, I just can’t write. I mean, blogging is therapeutic for me, but sometimes it’s just too soon and things can’t be said. Sounds, ominous, doesn’t it?
So, the elephant in the room… my husband’s job is moving him to another city. In the near future. Having lived in this area for most of my life (except college), this brings up lots of feelings. The first being that I want to support my husband 100%. I’m so proud of him and this move is something he’s been working for. It would provide him with some new opportunities and a really interesting position.
The rest of it isn’t so easy.
My children think we’re out to ruin their lives. We still haven’t settled on how we are going to handle the move. A lot of it depends on the housing market. It’s all up in the air and I hate not knowing “The Plan” – whatever that is.
The house is in serious need of some work before we can even think about selling.
Every time I think too long on leaving my friends, my church, my theatre…. my eyes get watery. So I just try not to think about it too much.
I’m not a very good “roll with the punches” kind of gal. I’m a planner. Even knowing something, even if it’s not the scenario I would choose, is better than the unknown for me.
We kind of have our own pet ducks. Back in the Spring we had a momma duck and 11 babies hanging around. Slowly, the number of the ducklings dwindled one at a time. Such is the nature of life in the wild. By the time they were “teenage” ducks, the number was down to four. The four that are left still all stick together. They’re almost adult sized now. Every morning at 6:30 a.m. they are at our back door looking for a hand out. Which we provide for them in the way of oats and water. Spoiled. I know. But they’re kinda sweet.
This woman is one of my dearest friends and I’m going to miss her a LOT. I adore this picture of us! We took all our hooligans plus a few to the beach when there was a tropical storm in the Gulf. It was nice and breezy and overcast!
Our theatre has its third production next week! We are doing Legally Blonde, and it’s going to be great! My eldest is playing Margo, who is such a fun character. If you’re in the area, come see us!
Hope you all have a safe and happy 4th of July!
