Happy Mother’s Day week! This week we are showcasing some of our favorite moms. Brittney is not only a fellow mom-of-three-girls, she’s family. She married my cousin Brady and they are doing an awesome job of raising their three young girls. Read about Brittney below.
How many children do you have and what are their ages?
3 kids-ages almost6 (next week), 4 and 2.5
How did you come up with the names of your children?
Their first names were on both of our names we liked list and their middle names we came up with at lion and the rose pub. Kenzie Rose, Courtney Lynn, Aubrey Beth was the odd one, we could not decide if we liked Aubrey or Bethany more. We picked both.
What is a book that you like to give as a gift?
It depends on the person and situation, but I’ve given captivating by Staci Eldredge a few times and my favorite series is Mark of the Lion, which I’ve had to repurchase since those that have borrowed it liked it to much to return it. Lol
What is your favorite “go-to” recipe?
Chicken pasta or stir fry
What is a quality you admire in your own mother?
Her dedication and hard work she has for everything she does
What one product would you give a new mom?
A maid(lol), Nose frida, a nice baby carrier like ergo or tula
What advice would you give to a mom of a Kindergartener?
Being that I have my first Kindergartener this year, I’m still needing the advise but I’d say be intentional with having conversation about what they are learning, who their friends are, how to be someone with good character even when no one else is.
If you could choose a gift to receive for Mothers’ Day, what would it be?
24 hrs of “me time”, it rarely happens since my kids are home with me all day. Get a hotel with a friend or two. Get pedicures, eat out (eat while the food is still hot and not have to walk anyone to the bathroom a million times), go to the movies, sleep in, eat breakfast out, take a nap, go shopping…. all the things we don’t get to do very often when you have small children.
List 5 of your favorite things.
- Nail Polish
- My craft room
Share a favorite parenting memory.
One of my favorites that involves the whole family would be last summer after lots of rain, we took the kids down to the tank/pond at the back of our property. We had a picnic dinner then played in the tank for a few hours. We were cover in stinky mud, a few leeches, and had a little cow poo on all of us, but we had so much fun. The kids still talk about it. It didn’t cost any money, wasn’t planned, didn’t take much effort, but had quality family time being silly and getting dirty. All the clothes ended up in the trash.
Thanks for sharing, Brittney!
