Gooey Butter Cake


This is an oldie but goodie.  Perfectly lovely for curbing a sweet tooth, and simple enough that my 10 year old can make it!

Mix together: 1 package yellow cake mix, 1 egg, 1 stick melted butter.  Pat into a 9×13 greased and floured pan.

Mix together: 8 oz. softened cream cheese, 2 eggs and 2 cups powdered sugar.  Mix until creamy and pour over cake in the pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.  Lightly sprinkle powdered sugar over the top, cook another 20 minutes.

    Hi Laura! I just made this today – decided to do a search to compare to other recipes and what pops up but your blog?! I was like “I KNOW HER!” :-)
    Mine is still cooling and I can’t wait to try it! I used the same recipe you have here, but forgot to grease and flour the pan -oops!
