This delightful juvenile fiction series is one my eldest daughter has been encouraging me to read for at least a year.  I guess I should have listened to her sooner, because I loved the books.  They take the story of a team of four gifted children and a few adult mentors, through adventures that result in saving the world from the plots of the evil Mr. Curtain.  The children are each gifted in different ways, and watching them pool their talent and figuring things out makes for lots of fun.  The books are quirky and light-hearted, and I highly recommend them for both adults and children alike!

The Extraordinary Education of Nicolas Benedict

This 4th book by Trenton Lee Stewart is sort of a prequel to the other series, in that it takes you back to the childhood of their mentor, Nicolas Benedict, who was an “old man” in the other books.  The first couple of chapters are a little slow, but after that, the book picks up, and I actually think I enjoyed this one even more than the others.  It shows Mr. Benedict’s extraordinary gifts as a child, and takes the reader through a fun adventure on a secret search for a lost treasure.  So much fun!
