Original Recipe: Gingerbread Waffles by Annie’s Eats
Modifications: None. I even grated my own ginger and nutmeg.
Procedure: Quite easy. Mix all together and cook with waffle iron.
Verdict: I thought these were yummy. They were a little more dense than I would prefer waffles to be, but other than that I really liked them. They tasted like Christmas, without the ginger being too overpowering. Of course, #3 didn’t care for them. She said they tasted like pumpkin, but not, and she didn’t like them. #1 and #2 did like them, but I learned something new after 16+ years of marriage… my husband doesn’t like gingerbread. So, needless to say, he didn’t like these, and actually, didn’t even eat past one bite, which is pretty rare for him, because usually he eats whatever I fix. I had to make it up to him with homemade popcorn later in the evening. So, would I make them again? Probably not. If I want something “Christmasy” I can just make real gingerbread.
