31 Days of Music: The Beatles

Back in the 80s and 90s when my friends were swooning over rock stars with long hair and the boy bands of the day, I was content to listen to the the Beatles.   I still love the Beatles.  My children now love the Beatles.  I loved it when they were little and we were out and about and a Beatles song would come on, and they, in their preschool wisdom would proclaim “It’s the Beatles, Mom!”

You can search the internet for reasons why the Beatles are statistically one of the best bands of all time. For example, they have sold over one BILLION records.  One BILLION.  They also did all sorts of ground-breaking things including occupying all 5 slots at the top of the billboard charts at once.  Honestly, though, I could care less about all that.   I like them because I like their music.  I like the harmonies.  I like the lyrics I can sing along to.

Oh, and did I mention?  I am a master at Beatles Rock Band on the Playstation.

Just sayin’.

Just picture me with a microphone in my living room, singing just like this…
